Mission Statement

ALAF serves as the umbrella for the Anglo/Latin American bilateral societies in the UK. All the bilateral societies are members of ALAF and support events which raise funds for disadvantaged children in Latin America. By acting collectively, ALAF can help the societies, in collaboration with their Embassies, improve their contribution to how they support charitable projects in the region. We believe that working together through ALAF the bilateral societies can fulfill their roles in helping deserving children in Latin America.

Message from Chairman

Welcome to the newly updated website of the Anglo-Latin American Foundation. I have been proud to Chair ALAF since 2010 and believe the Foundation has significantly helped the bilateral societies in their work. The Latin American community in the UK have supported ALAF events generously, and it has been a pleasure to witness their vibrancy and enthusiasm. I wish them every success in continuing their excellent work.

Christmas Carol Service

The first Carol Service was held in 2009 under the guidance of Lady Pilar Brennan. Since then, with the support of our President Miriam Nasser Romero, our Chairman Richard Austen MBE, and all the trustees, we have managed to raise over £70,000 for children’s charities in Latin America. The upcoming Carol Service will take place on December 4, 2023, at 7:30 p.m. at St. James’s Church Spanish Place. We would be delighted to have you join us for this occasion. Following the service, there will be a reception, and the St. James’s Choir, one of the finest choirs in London, will be performing.https://alafcarolservice.eventbrite.co.uk
